Robbyn Island

Our visit to Robbyn Island where Nelson Mandela was held was very moving.  The injustices of Apartheid were evident every where we went in S. Africa but especially here.  The man you see was our tour guide and a former prisoner.  He was imprisoned for participating in a peaceful protest.  He was 17 at the time and imprisoned for 5 years.

Penguins in S. Africa

Went to Went to the top of Table Mountain in Cape Town as part of my tour.  Loved the views!  Met so many nice people. Went to see the penguins of S.Africa at Boulder’s Beach.  This was part on the tour that included The Cape of Good Hope and Table Mountain.  Tom was not feeling well, so he stayed on the ship.  The penguins were just too cute.

Bankok

Well we survived the 18 hours of fling and arrived safely in Bankok.  It is 95 degrees here and 195% humidity.  There is a lot to see in Bankok and the Thai people are just so lovely.  We visited several ruins of ancient temples.  Learned that Wat means temple in Thai.  Yesterday we took a Longboat ride on the canals and were told that Bankok is sometimes called the Venic of the East.  I will share several pictures here.  The Golden Buddha was amazing.  Notice how different the Thai Buddha looks from the Chinese Buddha we are all used to seeing.
